A few hours after its exclusive release on the Apple Music platform, the new video clip by Florence + The Machine made its appearance on YouTube. This is the visualization of the highly anticipated new single “Big God” from the album “High As Hope” released on Friday, June 29th.
In a recent interview with the New York Times, Welch said that “Big God” is about “obviously, an unfillable hole in the soul… but mainly about someone not replying to my text. As she sings, “You keep me up at night / You know I still like you the most / The best of the best and the worst of the worst.”
And then: “You need a big god / Big enough to hold your love / You need a big god“.
The video clip was directed by Autumn de Wilde and was choreographed by Akram Khan and Florence Welch.
